How to use this tool
- Pick a preset or type a five-field expression.
- Read the English translation.
- Check the next five UTC run times.
- Copy the expression into crontab -e.
Field order
Minute (0–59), hour (0–23), day of month (1–31), month (1–12), day of week (0–7). Example: 30 14 * * 1-5 is 14:30 on weekdays. Need Quartz seconds or a Kubernetes note? Use the cron expression generator, which shares this engine.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a crontab generator?
- A UI that writes the five Unix cron fields for you and translates the result into English plus upcoming run times.
- How do I run a job every 5 minutes?
- Use */5 * * * *. That is the default preset on this page.
- Is Sunday 0 or 7?
- Unix accepts both. This parser maps 7 to 0.
- What if both day-of-month and day-of-week are set?
- Unix cron ORs them. 0 0 1 * 1 runs on the first of the month or on Mondays.
- Does this install a crontab?
- No. It only builds the expression. Paste it into crontab -e, a Kubernetes CronJob, or systemd.
