Free Markdown Table Generator
Free markdown table generator. Paste CSV, TSV, or JSON — alignment colons, escaped pipes. Browser tool — nothing is uploaded.
Markdown
| name | qty | city | | --- | ---: | --- | | apple | 2 | Pune | | pear | 1 | Austin |
First row is the header. JSON arrays of objects become a header from the keys. Pipes inside cells are escaped. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use this tool
- Paste CSV, TSV, or a JSON array.
- Pick left / center / right per column.
- Copy the markdown table.
Worked example
name, qty then apple,2 with qty aligned right becomes a four-line GFM table: header, --- / ---:, then two body rows. JSON [{"id":1,"city":"Pune"}] yields columns id and city. CSV-only with quoted commas also lives on CSV to markdown.
Frequently asked questions
- What can I paste?
- CSV, TSV, a JSON array of objects, or a JSON array of arrays. The first row (or object keys) becomes the header.
- How does alignment work?
- GitHub-flavored markdown: :--- left, :---: center, ---: right. Set it per column.
- Pipes in a cell?
- They are escaped as \| so the row does not split.
- JSON to markdown table?
- Yes — paste [{"id":1,"city":"Pune"}] and you get a header from the keys.
- Uploaded?
- No.
