Hreflang Checker — Validate Tags Online
Free hreflang checker and validator. Check hreflang online for missing x-default, relative URLs, and duplicates. Runs in your browser.
- No issues. Reciprocal tags still need to exist on every language URL.
<link rel="alternate" hreflang="en" href="https://example.com/" /> <link rel="alternate" hreflang="en-GB" href="https://example.com/uk/" /> <link rel="alternate" hreflang="pt-BR" href="https://example.com/br/" /> <link rel="alternate" hreflang="x-default" href="https://example.com/" />
How to use this tool
- Paste link tags or a language/URL table.
- Fix relative URLs and duplicate codes.
- Copy cleaned tags into every language document.
Reciprocal still matters
If /en points at /br, /br must point back at /en. This checker cannot see the other HTML document. It catches the mistakes in the snippet you are about to ship. Moving hosts? Check a from→to CSV with the redirect map checker.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you crawl the reciprocal URLs?
- No. We validate the set you paste. You still need the same tags on every language URL.
- What is x-default?
- The fallback for unmatched languages. We warn if it is missing.
- en vs en-US?
- Both are valid. Use a region when the content actually differs.
- HTML or a table?
- Either. Link tags are parsed; otherwise use “lang URL” per line.
- Uploaded?
- No.
